Why You Need to Make Time for Art

Why You Need to Make Time for Art

Feelin’ stuck in your career?

The kind of stuck where you don’t have a fresh clue what you’d do next, but you know fo sho that the job you’re currently doing just isn’t cutting it?

YOU’RE NOT ALONE.

Almost every single Rebel who reaches out to me is in the same boat as you. In fact, I used to feel stuck AF in my own career.

After getting myself unstuck, and now helping others do the same, what I’ve learned is this:

Stuck is what happens when your routines, behaviours, surroundings, habits, and mindset no longer serve you.

And they’re so damn familiar that the world doesn’t seem like it can be anything but what you’re currently experiencing.

But that just ain’t true. There’s so much opportunity out there, but it’s not possible to see it if, day in and day out, you’re doing the same things and thinkin’ the same thoughts.

So how do you bust outta the stuckness?

Imma let you in on one of my secret weapons…

ART!

Yep, art.

And y’know what’s great about art? It’s everywhere. There are so many ways to experience it.

Like at a museum. Or by reading a magazine that profiles artists and their work (UPPERCASE magazine is one of my favs). Or going to an artisan show.

Why is art so dang effective at helping you get unstuck?

Because while you’re engaged with it, it gets you out of those routines, behaviours, surroundings, habits, and mindset that are no longer serving you.

It helps you see the world through another person’s eyes. And be astounded by the magic that others see in the world and by the endless creative ways they express it.

The world can seem pretty small sometimes, especially when you’re feelin’ stuck.

But, somehow, art always makes it feel like a kaleidoscope of beauty and opportunity.

So get out there and immerse yourself in some art. Make time for it. ‘Cause it might just help those feelings of stuckness fade away, and instead fill you with sparks of possibility and excitement for all that could be.
