14 Oct The Biggest Misconception About What Work Is For
There are a whole lotta misconceptions about work. But I think the biggest misconception of all is around what work is for.
I ask people this question allll the time, and the number one answer I get back is “work is for earning money.” That’s it. That’s the only thing they can think of. And while it’s true, earnin’ money is just *one small part* of what work is actually for.
If work were just about earnin’ money, you’d be happy with any and every job. But you’re not, because it’s about so much more than that. Work is about learning new skills and tapping into your strengths.
It’s about pursuing your passions and your purpose in order to make a positive impact on the world. It’s about exercising your incredible creativity and havin’ a hella good time in the process.
And yeah, you’ll also earn money.
But when you consciously create a career that includes all of these elements, earnin’ money won’t be the reason why you work anymore, it’ll just be the cherry on the sundae.
