10 Jun Rediscovering Who You Are
The other day I was rummaging around in the closet of my Imagination Room (aka my home office).
I can’t remember what it was I was even searching for, but while I was looking I happened upon an unmarked box on the top shelf.
When I opened it, I discovered that it contained all of my scrapbooking supplies.
My eyes lit up like Christmas morning. Right! I used to scrapbook. I had completely forgotten. It’s been so. many. years.
It got me to wondering how many others (maybe yourself included?) have hobbies, passions, and talents tucked away in a closet collecting dust because “real life” took over?
Maybe you ran out of time to pursue it because other priorities got in the way?
Or became discouraged because you felt it wasn’t a viable money-making interest?
Or because you stumbled upon something else that captivated your curiosity even more?
There are all sorts of reasons why we abandon something we once loved. Box it away on a high shelf in a closet, like I did.
But maybe it’s time to go on a treasure hunt and rediscover those hobbies, passions, and talents?
Maybe you let an interest go all those years ago because it just wasn’t the right time in your life. But what if right now is the right time?
Picking it back up again could even lead to the next chapter in your career. Ya never know what might happen!
So, go on. Dig through the basement, the closets, and under the beds. There are little bits of who you are tucked away all over your house. It’s about damn time to rediscover who that person is!
